To minimize unexpected challenges and avoid being overwhelmed by problems, here are five practical tips from professional psychologists to help you simplify your life:
  1. Break the Routine: Avoid falling into the monotonous cycle of "home-work-home." This lifestyle can drain the joy and excitement from your life, leaving you feeling chronically tired and depressed. Make time for activities that bring you happiness and relaxation.
  2. Stay Mindful of Your Actions: Keep your thoughts and impulses in check. By staying mindful, you’ll prevent yourself from making hasty decisions that could lead to unnecessary complications.
  3. Choose Your Relationships Wisely: Surround yourself with people who make you feel at ease and uplifted. Focus on building connections with those who bring positivity and comfort into your life.
  4. Declutter Your Space: Remember that a tidy home reflects a clear mind. Keeping your living space organized can help you feel more in control and bring a sense of calm to your life.
  5. Pursue Your Passion: Follow dreams that truly inspire and motivate you. Focus on goals that ignite your enthusiasm and drive—ones you’re willing to go the extra mile for.
By incorporating these strategies into your daily life, you can create a more balanced, fulfilling, and simplified existence.

Villy,

All 5 tips are practical for simplifying one’s life. The second, third and fifth really resonate with me and are three things I try my best to focus on.

I’ve also found the following quotes to be helpful with respect to personal growth and inner well-being:

• "To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all." — Oscar Wilde
• "I have very strong feelings about how you lead your life. You always look ahead, you never look back." — Ann Richards; former Governor of Texas
• "You do not find the happy life. You make it." — Camilla Eyring Kimball; wife of Spencer Kimball and most revered and emulated role model of LDS womanhood
• "Life is like a coin. You can spend it any way you wish, but you only spend it once." — Lillian Dickson; influential missionary, author and public speaker
• "Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life." — Steve Jobs, from his 2005 Stanford Commencement Address
• "I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed." — Booker T. Washington, from Up from Slavery
• "Challenges are what make life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful." — Joshua J. Marine; magician, author and motivational speaker
• "Make it a rule of life never to regret and never to look back. Regret is an appalling waste of energy; you can't build on it; it's only good for wallowing in." — Katherine Mansfield; New Zealand born author and critic
• “In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” – Abraham Lincoln

Just letting you know that I perused a good portion of the content on your Gleam & Glow program and found it to be very informative and inspirational. The guide, “The Mindful Path: A Practical Guide to Mental Hygiene and Fitness” is excellent!

I truly hope the program really takes off my dearest friend. Look forward to catching up soon.

Warmest regards,

David
